LUMA

A New Year and a bright new product from Farmboy, introducing LUMA.

Luma is the lovechild of thick, laser cut acrylic with a metallic-like vinyl backing toned to any one of our 50 color selects. The result brings to life a luminous product that will create inspiring environments for both the corporate and hospitality client.

An excellent product for hotel guestrooms, corridors or lobby areas and equally versatile as a wall divider.

FBFA Design Trends

The "dealio" on what we think is Farm Fresh for 2008:

  1. Patterns of Nature: images, illustrations, photography that reflects our world in nature displayed within our urban environments; soft forms to hard edges.
  2. Culture Clash: multiple layers of images pulled from our favorite moments in pop culture, segments, sound bites, compositions mashed together in a "soup" of art.
  3. Pure Photography: whether it is clean portraits or beautiful landscapes, we see further representation of strong, crisp images. We see pure documentation of the world we live in, beautiful images created from raw subject matter.
  4. All for One: whether it be a famous designer or 1st year art student, we see collaboration happening on multiple fronts, multiple mediums all collaborating towards a common design goal - the beautiful ornate object....anything goes.
  5. Generative: it's about creating moving art...plain and simple.

Divine Design

The good people of HGTV's award winning program, Divine Design with Candice Olson called us awhile back and really wanted to work with us. We could't have been happier. So watch for our Farmboy wallpaper being featured in an upcoming episode.

Ode to Pancho

This month's art + design PDF is dedicated to work and images of Farmboy Francisco Jose Ortiz, who we lost suddenly on Jan 1st.

To his friends and colleagues he was known as Pan or Pancho. Pan started with us just over a year ago and made an impression on each and every one of us for many, many years to come. Francisco was a bright light at Farmboy, full of energy, inspiration and a never ending supply of suggestions from music to fashion, politics, technology and motorcycles....He was our cool hunter.

His talent in both art + design and technology transcended what so many of us inspire to do and we hope that we can carry the torch that he ignited in so many of us.

We miss him tremendously.
