Salmon Wranglers
Ever wrestled a 25 pound salmon? The Farmboys' took a much appreciated time out to reel in some salmon on the Canada Day Long Weekend. We headed up the BC coastline and no sooner had we cast out; we landed a serious “slab” of Chinook salmon. What a wonderful way to celebrate Canada Day; fresh salmon, cold bevies, and good friends! |

The Farmboys' Hair Raising Adventure !
Some of our very own Farm folk were recently on a trek across the continental divide and felt our dedicated readers would be interested in their latest hair raising adventure. Below is an email we received from our president, Todd Towers as he and Tim McCool, vice president were still dusting off their boots from the drama:
Mid-flight and into the end credits of our in-flight movie; our plane suddenly "dropped" about 10,000 feet in a matter of seconds. Everyone in unison made that weird noise that people do on a very scary section of a roller coaster. Flight attendants started running, a flight marshall sprang out of some undisclosed seat and grabbed some unknown "gear" out of an overhead bag and we were told to "SIT DOWN, FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS AND PREPARE FOR AN EMERGENCY LANDING!!!" The Captain came on the PA and made mention of a "small crack" that had "appeared" in the windshield
( pictured above ). I looked for the closest door, put my coat on, checked for my wallet, passport, Blackberry, iPod (never crash with out those) and grabbed cash out of my bag and then got ready to ditch. My thought was, if we are going to put it in the willows, at least I can place a phone call, listen to some music, and and have some money to barter a grain truck or saddle horse with. I cinched up tight and feeling like a cast member from Lost, prepared for impact!
Thanks to the Big Boss upstairs, we arrived safe and sound in friendly Bismarck North Dakota, happily eating Domino's pizza supplied by the airline. A plane was sent from Chicago to fetch us, so Tim and I don't have to barter for a couple of saddle horses. But you know what, if we didn't have to be in Chicago for the HD Show, that might not have been such a bad idea. Horses never drop you 30,000 feet out of the sky! |
