Ky Anderson is a contemporary painter from Kansas City, Missouri. Now living and working in Brooklyn, New York, Anderson’s paintings are marked by explorations of balance and form. Straddling the line between abstract and representational art, and often featuring flat fields of translucent color, Anderson’s works invite the viewer to explore the terrain of her subconscious.
We were drawn in by Anderson’s visual conversation with the struggles and joys of daily life, represented by her slow working and re-working of layers, sometimes over a period of years. FBFA recently had the fortune of placing a pair of her works in Central Place, a premier residential tower in Rosslyn, Virginia, where she is featured in a collection of emerging American artists. Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions in New York, Kansas City, and London, as well as in group exhibitions worldwide.
NEXT is an ongoing series of profiles of emerging and established contemporary fine artists whose work Farmboy Fine Arts has acquired, commissioned, or proposed in previous projects.
