Opened in 1914, Fairmont Palliser is one of Calgary’s most historic hotels. Host to heads of state, celebrities, and royalty, the hotel has a prestigious legacy that CHIL Interior Design and B + H Architects wanted to honor in their 2017 renovation.
The traditional style of the hotel was updated with nods to Calgary’s agricultural culture, something the team at Farmboy knows a bit about. A color palette mimicking tawny straw, sunshine yellows, and prairie sky blue blend together on abstract expressionist pieces. Images of farm life, portraits of horses, black and white photographs of haystacks, come together with images of Calgary’s urban future.
The collection for the Fairmont pays homage to the history of the city, while looking forward to a new century at the Palliser.
