Tamara Brink

(she/her)

b. Bonners Ferry, Idaho 1981
Lives and works in Haleiwa, Hawai’i, USA

Originally from Idaho, Tamara Brink made her home on the North Shore of Oahu. Surrounded by the lush flora of the tropical pacific islands, Brink has found inspiration in the natural world around her. Her work captures the depth of contentment and peace found in the instinctive clarity nature offers in its simplest forms. The love for “I ka aina” or “the earth around” is an important cultural value in Hawaii, which has allowed Brink to appreciate and relate with those who are equally inspired and in awe of I ka aina through her artwork. Brink’s work continues to develop and grow as she expresses her admiration of nature in an abstract manner with a strong emphasis on shape and color.

Erin Harrison

(she/her)

b. Rossland, BC 1986
Lives and works in North Vancouver, Canada

Erin Harrison’s practice explores how we personally identify with the relationship between space and form. Creating minimalist abstract paintings, Harrison aims to break down the complexity of her surrounding environment into simple and carefully considered compositions. Delicately and deliberately balancing shapes and colour, Harrison creates bold compositions that encourage curiosity. Successfully playing with depth and perspective, the forms in each painting create a narrative for the viewer, allowing us to decipher and allocate meaning to their abstraction. Harrison continues to create work that is relatable universally, with the purpose of inspiring creative thought and emotional exploration.

Sky Hoyt

(she/her)

b. Balboa, Panama 1968
Lives and works in Stonington, Connecticut

Sky Hoyt’s work is informed her surroundings, inspired by images found in different settings: domestic, online, printed, outdoors, and of course other artists and art history. Captivated by subjects such as gardens and their roots in folklore/mythology; the familiar painted figurative subject, the arrangement of everyday objects; and style and decorating. Hoyt is constantly looking, evaluating, and stepping back to view her own work through the eyes of others. Creating collaged mixed media works that include textiles, rice paper, and gold leaf, Hoyt’s unique and playful compositions are a nod to her love of pattern and interest in interior design.
